When the benefits of Blockchain technology is fully released into our society, over the next 20 years, we will be faced with the decision of what to do with all our free time
It’s going to be an amazing time to be alive but there’s going to be a rocky patch to cross first
The people that will benefit first will be the banks… well the owners of the banks anyway
The technology will give the workers in the corporate world the kind of shake up the industrial sector got, when robotics and automation came along and replaced/displaced workers globally over time, whilst also creating new jobs (but not as many)
This technology will permeate every aspect of our lives, and yes, the industrial sector is going to be effected again too
The vast majority of work from the farm to the office will eventually be handled by either machines or automated software
Robots/intelligent machines will replace the need for so many farm hands (automated tractors guided by sat nav)… sophisticated automation software will efficiently reduce admin and managerial workload greatly… and it’ll all be knitted together by blockchain systems feeding into globally distributed applications all working in sync with a shared purpose
But they’re also going to benefit… as I mentioned, we all have to decide what to do with all our free time…
Our options will be (in no particular order):
- Following a passion
- Being with family and friends
- Working
Working can be broken down again into:
- Working because you want to earn even more money, or
- Or earning more money by doing things that bring value to society or your local community
The choice if you ask me is pretty simple, it’s a no brainer, if you gave your dog or your monkey a choice between dragging a bunch of heavy rocks or getting their tummy tickled for a chewy snack, they’d go for the latter every time
The human input required to do your work has been minimised and so for some this will mean there just isn’t enough work for 5 days a week… this trend will happen all over the world
when robotics and software have automated and provided everything we need to live, we’ll have more time to reflect and be rewarded for doing things that benefit society as a whole
The decentralised nature of Blockchain allows us look to ourselves for solutions and away from centralised organisations
A decentralised app (dApp)can be self organising and autonomous by nature and will enable us to move toward achieving whatever purpose we give it
Think globally or locally…
